First, cancel all and any appointments that you have because if you have severe hangover, you are too sick to even perform simple task. Don’t even think about working or going anywhere because you might just throw up on someone or do stupid things. Worst case would be you are still drunk the next morning. Staying home is the answer. While you are home, sleep as many hours as yu can. Hangovers are best dealt when asleep because your body is recovering to its normal state. While you are awake and on a hangover, your body is working double time. Rest is important to keep that energy. If there are still things you need to do, try sleeping for a few hours at least.

Drink gallons of water if you have to. You might have had good feelings when you were drinking alcohol but when you are hungover, you will be severely dehydrated because alcohol is a natural diuretic or makes you pee a lot. Make sure you protect you stomach as well because alcohol damages the stomach linings. Dairy products that are bland like yogurt or Pepto Bismol can be ways you can insulate your stomach and give it a protective coat.

Also, try to eat up and load up on carbohydrates. Starchy carbs give you vitamins and these can help replenish the nutrients you lost. Bread or potato chips and pretzels can be those options. Taking a warm bath can help steam out the toxins in the body and keep you relax while you steam off. and lastly, don’t take any over-the-counter medications while you are sobering up because it can damage your liver in more ways than you think.
